A couple weeks ago Sydnee begged to go to Wal-Mart with me. She had a few extra dollars and wanted to buy something. When we got there she showed me what she was buying A 96 Package of Crayola CRAYONS (I remember every childs dream), even though I remembered this was a childs dream I reminded Sydnee that we had over 1000 crayons at home ... was she sure she wanted them. YES was her answer. According to Sydnee it was One of the BEST DAYS EVER!!! After we bought them and she was so excited the whole way home, and elated the rest of the week over these simple crayons... I felt a little sad I hadn't bought her these earlier in life. She colored with them, showed them to everyone that came over, took them to school, used the sharpener, and even let another friend take them home. The other day they all fell out and we sorted them together and put them in color order. That was another exciting moment with crayons.
I love this picture...and yes, a good reminder that it is the simple things that bring the most joy! Thanks Sydnee!
